everytime someone tries their fucking best to be inclusive, diverse etc. people are digging through everything they can find just to justify that they dont like it? overwatch recently hosted a huge event to raise money for breast cancer research in association with the BCRF and without even doing one second of research people accused them of working with the susan g. komen foundation (which wasnt true) and tried to boycott a fucking charity event?

Tumblr is the absolute worst when it comes to purity culture and problematic material. If anything comes out that works to create positive waves of impact and promote representation for marginalized communities (especially LGBT+), this stupid fucking hellsite is always looking to find any sort of impurity or negative quality about the work so that they can burn it to the fucking ground.

Actual good material has been coming out recently in very small, but growing, droves, and everyone’s pushing it away, slamming it with boycotts, and letting it die all up and down the fucking walls.

Ya’ll need to knock off this purity culture bullshit. Nobody is pure, nobody is pristine. Things can have negative qualities and still be good. Sometimes things are allowed to be imperfect. And guess what? Opinions and people can change over time. Get off your god-complex high horse and realize this.

Purity culture is toxic and destructive. If anything needs to be boycotted, it’s this.
